Introduction

Since 2000 the Compass Insurance Scheme has dealt with more than 1,750 public and employer´s liability claims with a total cost to insurers in excess of £16.5 million. Analysis of those claims dispels the common myth that exposure to such liability risks only applies to parks with large, central facilities such as bars, clubs, swimming pools and so on.

In reality, the range of facilities does not influence the likelihood of claims being made, as much as the nature of park visitors.
